For the Christmas theme, I chose the classic primary colours of red and white, mirroring the hues of the primary object, the Snowman. Complementing this, green and red, traditional Christmas colours, are applied to other elements within the scenes.

On the Main Menu canvas, uniform white clickable buttons are employed, with all buttons transitioning to red to provide user feedback upon hover. They also change the colour when clicked. Those buttons are the shape of a Christmas tree ornament.

In the Game Menu, once again utilizing white clickable buttons, I introduced three distinct colours (each representing a specific movement) that appear when users hover, enhancing usability given the canvas's eight buttons. The Reset and Menu buttons are deliberately positioned at the bottom, designed differently for easy identification. I chose the font type Banger because it is fun and stands out. I used it consistently across both menu canvases.

Both menus are rectangular and transparent to evoke a cosy, snowy mountain setting, resembling windows with a dusting of snow. They convey the image of a log house surrounded by snow. When switching between both scenes, Menus are positioned identically on the screen, conveying the image of a log house surrounded by snow.

The Snowman's movements involve relocation and rotation in both directions, and users can resize it using buttons available in the Game Menu. The intentional choice of a plain blue sky background serves to highlight the Snowman within the scene.

Hi T!

First of all, that snowman is so good! Glad to see he found his nose eventually too ;) I really love the border and snow covering you created for the menu, it matches the theme well and the design is great, really seems like the background is a sheet of ice. I would love to try and implement the snow feature on top of the menu frame into our third assessment, I think it would look great.

Constructive Feedback:

Snowman's hat changes sizes between scenes and his bow-tie changes shades of red too.

Rotate and Size font color can be hard to read against the background but the color continuity between font and buttons is a good touch.

Outline for ornament buttons is faded and fuzzy looking, (style choice?).

Other than that, great work and color choices!

I like your simple and effective design! Great work!

The format of all 3D assets and styles creates a good composition that balances the menu and elements apart from each other. The chosen colours establish a Christmas theme and remain consistent throughout the game. Possible considerations could be creating a tutorial at the start-up, as the objective of the game is a little unclear. Additionally, make the move distance wider so the user can navigate through the game faster.

UX & UI Feedback

The character and other assets look amazing!

The colour pallet is a great choice, being Christmas-themed.

Good proportions.

Easy and familiar layout, choice of buttons, sizing and icons.

User feedback as expected. Well done.

Possible considerations:

Text colouring on the Size and Rotate menu list.

Great Job T :)
